Solutions: A New Marshall Plan for the World -Part 1
?“History is the only Education. All the rest is just training” - Brent Staples?
Leadership
General (ret.) Mattis: In this age, I don't care how tactically or operationally brilliant you are, if you cannot create harmony — even vicious harmony — on the battlefield based on trust across service lines, across coalition and national lines, and across civilian/military lines, you need to go home, because your leadership is obsolete. We have got to have officers who can create harmony across all those lines.
The Tectonic Shift of Capital and the Future of Work
When I ran the Loan Production Office of the First National Bank of Louisville in New York City, I became aware of the competitive nature of job development among American states. Each U.S. state vies and competes to attract jobs. Some state governments have been wildly successful in this effort; some, not so much. Some state administrations have combined accounting, global commerce and cultural savvy to attract global corporate players to their states. Some other states and nations, motivated by ignorance, have attracted autocrats, plutocrats and other crats who pursue their own aspirations and ego fulfillment:
In the process, these autocrats and oligarchs; these cartoon characters, have financed war crimes and the most despicable and horrific of human “dissipations:”
in a vainglorious and failed attempt at geostrategy and geopolitics.?
Jobs and America/s and the World's Tomorrow
As governor of South Carolina, [Nikki] Haley attracted $30 billion in capital investment and created 105,000 new jobs. Additionally, the state has secured significant investments from international brands, including?BMW,?Boeing,?Bridgestone,?Continental AG,?Giti Tire,?LPL Financial?Holdings,?Mercedes-Benz?Vans,?Michelin,?Samsung,?Toray?and?Volvo?Cars.

Additionally, the state of?South Carolina?achieved an export sales record in each year of her tenure. In 2016, the state exported more than $31 billion in products for the first time, leading the nation in the export sales of completed passenger vehicles and tires.
Those Who Work and Those Who Watch?
South Carolina has been able to generate the employment that comes with these enterprises.?But 50% of the blue-collar working class of South Carolina is neither college educated nor has advanced training in the math and sciences that are applicable to the jobs the state has attracted. For these folks both employment and economic growth are "spectator sports." Education and training, not propaganda or "fake news" will determine future employability and in many cases, health and quality of life.?
Investment in a New World
Cleantechnica: In his 2022 letter, BlackRock’s CEO Larry Fink talks of a tectonic shift of capital:?“More than US$130 trillion of collective financial capital has been pledged globally to net zero emissions by 2050. This isn’t just a moral choice; it is a matter of factoring the risk posed to the global economy by fossil fuels and finding the place to make wealth for your clients.?
The demand for green energy is increasing exponentially. Green hydrogen is finding its place in the ecosystem and the means to achieve that place are being put into action rapidly. Concurrently, finance is flowing to the sector and profits are being made. Government policies, especially after the COP26 pledges, are aiding the transition.”
In his 2020 annual open letter,[35] Fink announced?environmental sustainability?as a core goal for BlackRock's future investment decisions.

The New Marshall Plan will connect Ourzazate in Morocco with Europe through a hydrogen pipeline running the 8 miles from Morocco to Spain.?
The ample irradiance of the Moroccan Desert, the sun and winds of Morocco can be utilized to generate green hydrogen which could be piped 11 km (8 miles), under the Strait of Gibraltar from Point Cires, Morocco to?Point Marroquí (Spain). In Spain, the pipeline would be connected to the existing hydrogen pipeline system which transits France and the Essen Valley, a center of German industry.?
The U.S.?
“History is powerful?because we can identify with the hopes, follies and sorrows of those who have come before us. In recognizing the limits of their power in the face of nature, we can also acknowledge our own. It is a lesson we would do well to heed. The Antonine Plague wasn’t the last lethal pandemic the Romans faced. And Covid-19 won’t be ours” - Dr. Kyle Harper, Professor of Classics and Letters and Provost Emeritus at the University of Oklahoma.?
