I'll share my story below and be brutally honest about my mistakes, pains, and solutions.

Here's what being stuck in a dry hole looks like in my experience.

? Running from networking event to networking event, pitching everybody you meet

? Taking clients who don't share your values because they will pay you

? Using manipulative sales techniques to sell ice to Eskimos

? Hiring a guru to lead you abdicating responsibility for mastery over your own business

? Working through lunch and deep into the weekend because you feel desperate for cash

I've been there many times in my life, but I solved the problem once and for all.

I remember sitting in my old Ford Explorer, the one with a broken air ride system, overwhelmed because my sale of an expensive insurance policy fell through last minute.

I'd been living off the proceeds from exiting my family business but was digging into retirement savings without feeling any energy from my new career selling insurance.

Using the techniques described below, I did succeed and stabilized my income. Once there, I left insurance and started a new career in the marketing technology and software industry.

Know what you love, where you best support others, and how to focus on your strengths.

I'll share solutions below, but keep in mind that it's on you when you allow this to happen or take advice from people who cram their point of view down your throat.

Careful not to make desperate decisions and hire coaches to dig you out of the temporary hole; I'll offer to help you for free below.

The risk of making mistakes when this happens includes paying money to people who sell the dream of a world where you no longer have to master your domain or run your show.

Never hire somebody who tells you they know better, has a magic answer, and will get immediate results.

Even when you solve the desperate money problem, nothing changes. Now, you work in a business that doesn't realize your purpose, feel connected to your power, is designed for your unique personality and energy, or allows you to spend time doing what you love.

It gets worse.

Family suffers when you get stuck in this situation. It's brutal for them. The instability, long hours, and stress hurts your core relationships with potentially devastating consequences.

I'm not suggesting self-employment nirvana, where passive income allows you to do whatever you want for the rest of your life.

?? Hard work, hours, and discipline must be part of your daily routine and practice

?? Money matters and you must always focus on revenue

?? Sales skills and networking can be a part of your new business strategy

How do you solve the money crisis?

We no longer work with people who desperately need a client in a few months. Instead, I'd rather support your long-term vision, help you find the right clients, and build a foundation that supports your lifestyle without sacrificing happiness.

My advice when faced with serious trouble.

Ask yourself if self-employment was a good decision or if you are working for yourself because you did not realize the realities of being a solopreneur.

Think of yourself as an actor or artist. Those who are driven to create must realize those dreams and will succeed. Try these techniques if you want to achieve badly enough. They worked in the past for me. You can do the same, but make sure it's worth the effort.

?? Decide to win and put your entire heart and soul into the business

?? Wake up early and adopt a meditative practice to clear your head and heart

?? Work your existing network and be honest about the situation as you ask for help

?? Package a simple one-to-one coaching or consulting solution, favoring do-it-for-you approaches, create a solid introductory story, and package a compelling offer

?? Find the pain in a target market, get very organized, and focus 100% on filling up your calendar

Without income, happiness won't come. You have to make money. I'm saying that you want to do it on your own terms, not at the expense of happiness.

I saw a post about not pretending to be friends with people but taking a transactional and "honest" approach to networking and sales.

That's insane in my world. I want to be around people I want to be around, not just those who pay me money.
