A Solid Win: The Feed-Forward Ratio

A sure-fire sign that you'll be winning in these shifting times is the feed-forward ratio.

It is the ratio of feedback and feed-forward, present in your leadership conversations.

Feedback beyond learning from it, is all about things that have happened, and I cannot do anything about them now.

Feed-forward is about what really matters and allowing space to focus on taking actions towards what really matters.

?

What can I do about it now?

What can I do about it this week?

What can I do about it this quarter?

?

I like to think about it like building leadership intentional muscle.

Playing this game over the years, I observe that we are social beings, and it is way more fun

strengthening this intentional muscle together.

?

What I suggest in the coming week, is to look at your existing meetings and see where it is best to introduce the feed-forward ratio.
