SOLE RESPONSIBILITY of the AMERICAN PEOPLE not of Cummings, Congress, or the Judiciary
It was interested if not funny and or disturbing to watch Michael Cohen testify before congress and the American people today Wednesday, February 27, 2019. And tomorrow the last day of the month of February he would continue his testimony before select members of Congress. What really do Americans or should we get out of it all? Some TV channels had nothing more to say all day while one in particular touched upon it and went on to other business of the day: who is right and who was wrong CNN, MSNBC v. FOX
This writer will not go over the entire broadcast which I accidentally saw while in a company for business in the near north side of Chicago, but when my business was over I asked if I could be allowed to sit down and watch some more, but I had to still leave though the answer I got was: by all means feel free to continue watching. In that telecast Elijah Cummings from Maryland the chairman of the day took his time to read a lengthy opening, immediately after which another member of the house spoke for only about 7 minutes but was not allowed to complete his speech which was not being read; and even as he quickly attempted to move a motion he still was not allowed by the chairman who proceeded to swear in Cohen to testify and continued with the day’s meeting.
Cohen said President Trump is a Racist, a Conman and a Cheat. Among other things he also said the President threatened schools and other authorities not to release his grades and SAT scores (without his permission). But who should be our President? Should (s)he be a genius? Who really cares what a president’s grades and or SAT scores were at school before or after his election? Or what President has been voted in solely on his college grades or ever at all. But there are other more important matters.
What is racism? We all know what the dictionary definition is and how we view it and of course the Law, but is our current view appropriate and or correct? We have 3 races on earth and here in America: White Black and Other1 which cannot be disputed by any human that is not blind. Should there be any thing said about any race by members of that race and in particular by members of another race that should be offensive or seen as homophobic or racist at all? As this must have been spoken out of ignorance, subjectively or may be objectively like the book mentioned about which was a research undertaken in partial fulfillment of a PhD degree after satisfactory completion of prescribed coursework, then offered to the reading public because of its subject matter. By the way Other simply means those humans that are neither White nor Black.
The two other words with which Cohen described the sitting President: a Conman and a Cheat. What simple came to mind is a quotation: Whoever had never sinned let him throw the first stone - by a man who never sinned. That is all this writer will say on Mr. Cohen’s introductory description of Mr. President. But before we leave this topic I want us to critique what happened at the hearing today between the chairman and the first speaker even before Mr. Michael Cohen began to read his prepared speech and by the way one was black and the other white. What is racism I ask again? Certainly it cannot be that a black man used his office to prevent a white man from airing his opinion (which could be correct and or in order) and to move a motion because the superior black man was in hurry to nail another white man to the cross – a duty that only belongs to we the people! By the way this very man Chairman Elijah Cummings of the state of Maryland was asked a simple question by a reporter after the hearing namely that: did the President commit a crime while in office? Cummings hesitated for a very long while before responding to, which somebody who just came in and not have heard the question asked would have thought it was a really hard question to answer! And he said probably yes. Does that not remind us of another man, Haman who was also asked a simple question: What should be done to a man that the King delights to honor who also delayed a long while like Honorable Cummings before answering a simple question? Does anybody know Haman, who he really was? Is that the pattern of such men?
In our country America, as well as in any other Democratic society, there are 3 arms of Government: the Judiciary, the Executive and the Legislature plus we the people - and all 4 have their vital roles in the smooth running of society. Who elected Trump as President of America and who can or should remove him? May be the Judiciary or could it be the Legislature? No not at all for each has it spelt out functions in the American Constitution. But rather that prerogative only belongs to the citizens-voters of this great country, who has the right to return Trump in 2020 or release him from office. And in doing this, the only question that matters is: did the President commit a crime while in office? Which question the chairman of today’s public hearing found difficult to answer yet he wants to condemn our President by bringing a witness whose key statement to all today is Mr. Trump did not (X)tell me to lie to Congress – that X – (directly) being only an adjective, which does not change the statement of fact. People all over the world do have disagreements, for example the President and his personal attorney for 10 years or more, Mr. Michael Cohen. I do not plead nor instruct Mr. Trump to pardon his former attorney when all this is over but only remind him to do so and may God bless America.
