After a 3 year hiatus, the UK Cyber security community is gathering in Newport (Wales) on 10-11 May, for CYBERUK 2022 .
So much has happened in the world of cyber since the last CYBERUK event that this is bound to be a blockbuster. However, one attack really took the industry by storm, and that was SolarWinds.
At CYBERUK 2022, experts from the field of cyber security will be digging deep into what happened, who it happened to, and how to stop it from happening to you, next time…

SolarWinds was a complex attack, targeting the software supply chain of a popular IT system management platform. Once compromised, the attackers were able to issue admin-level commands on affected systems. For a while, everyone held their breath.
But what should have happened? How could the attack have been spotted and prevented? What tools and techniques would have helped defenders discover and eliminate the threat? And how could the impact of the attack be minimised?

Together with experts from big hitters such as Microsoft, Amazon, and Google, the NCSC will be hosting a panel session on day one of CYBERUK 2022, that digs into these issues. Titled, ‘A little less conversation a little more action’ this is a great opportunity to gain insight into how such a dramatic attack could be accomplished and how to ensure your own systems are not affected next time.

What is CYBERUK 2022?
The UK cyber security industry will be gathering in Newport (Wales) on the 10-11 May. This is the first time in three years that the profession has had a chance to rub shoulders, talk shop and compare notes on what has been a record-breaking time for cyber.
Run by the NCSC, CYBERUK 2022 features a stellar array of speakers and exhibitors, backed by panel discussions of hot topics and the chance to learn from the best and brightest at the new Masterclasses.
