The Space Report (Q3 2024)?

The Space Report Q3 2024 highlights significant growth in Europe’s private sector space employment, a strong push for commercial space stations, and the U.S. Space Force surpassing its Guardian recruiting goals for FY 2024.?

Over the past decade, Europe’s private space workforce grew 66%, with France, the U.K., and Germany showing notable increases, while the U.S. space workforce expanded by over 21,000 from 2022 to 2023. As preparations for the International Space Station’s planned deorbit in 2031 continue, four commercial space stations are in development, signaling a new era for low Earth orbit. The U.S. Space Force enlisted 716 Guardians in FY 2024, exceeding its goal of 659 recruits, distinguishing itself amid recruitment challenges faced by other military branches. The report also details NASA’s Europa Clipper mission, set to explore Jupiter’s moon Europa, aiming to study its icy shell, ocean composition, and potential to support life.?
