SJVN Opens Bidding Round For 600 MW Renewable Energy: Indian hydropower utility SJVN Limited has launched a competitive solicitation bid for the supply of 600 MW firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) power projects with energy storage systems. It has also added a greenshoe option for up to 600 MW of additional capacity.?Under the greenshoe option, the buying entity may procure additional power than tendered to meet its renewable purchase obligation and energy storage obligation.?SJVN specifies that the projects may be located anywhere and need to be connected to the grid via the inter-state transmission system (ISTS).?Qualifying bidders will need to quote for a minimum 50 MW capacity while the maximum cumulative is 600 MW, added in multiples of 10 MW. The agency has set a minimum capacity of 30 MW for projects located in India’s North-Eastern and special category states.?Solar modules to be deployed for these projects must be listed in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s (MNRE) Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM).?The state-owned entity launched the request for selection (RfS) round on March 27, 2024. NMMC Launches 100 MW Floating Solar Power Plant Tender: The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), the municipal organization of Maharashtra’s planned city Navi Mumbai, has launched a tender for a 100 MW floating solar power plant at the Morbe Dam. The re-tender is accompanied by a call for the development of a 1.5 MW hydroelectric project.?Constructed in 1999 by the Water Supply and Sanitation Department of Maharashtra, the Morbe Dam is located on Dhavari river. It is being managed by the NMMC since 2003 for its own independent and operational source of water. Located near Khalapur in Raigad district, the dam is a potential site for renewable energy facilities comprising hydroelectric and floating solar power plant, says the NMMC. Launched on March 23, 2024, the last date to submit the bids is April 2, 2024. UK Officially Opens Contracts For Difference Allocation Round 6: The UK Department for Energy Security & Net Zero has opened the allocation round 6 (AR6) under the country’s flagship contracts for difference (CfD) scheme to incentivize investment in new low carbon generation technology.?This tender round is open to a range of renewable energy technologies including offshore and onshore wind, solar, tidal stream, among others.?In this round, applications submitted will be evaluated to qualify eligible bidders for the next round wherein they will be asked to submit sealed bids.?The details of the tender launched on March 27, 2024 are available on the government’s Low Carbon Contracts Company Ltd. operated CfD allocation round website. Applications will be admitted till April 19, 2024.?
