In calendar week 50, prices for most products listed in the TaiyangNews PV Price Index kept their levels WoW. While only one wafer type lost value, prices for cells and modules continued their down trend from CW49. Last week, most polysilicon products were down low- to mid-single-digits WoW, as were products further downstream.
All polysilicon types listed kept their levels from the week prior. This compares to CW49, where Chinese polysilicon lost the most value at -6.3%, while n-type, reusable Chinese polysilicon and granular silicon were down -1.5%, -0.8% and -1.6%, respectively.
Most wafer types listed kept their price levels in CW49. The only wafer type to see price declines was the p-type 210 mm, 150 μm, dropping -7.6% WoW.
Continuing their trend from CW49, both PERC cell types saw price declines in CW50, as TOPCon wafer prices remained stable WoW. PERC p-type bifacial 182 mm prices were down -1.2%, while PERC p-type bifacial 210 mm lost -8.3%.

In CW50, all PERC module types listed were down low-single-digits, while TOPCon kept its level WoW. PERC monofacial p-type, 182 mm and PERC bifacial p-type, 182 mm declined -1.1% each, while PERC bifacial 210 mm lost the most at -2.0%.
Solar glass varieties listed continued their several week-long inertia after they had made sudden jumps upward in CW35 – the thicker one by 9.8% (3.2 mm), the thinner product by 8.1% (2.0 mm).
On a year-to-date basis, the products in all categories of this index but one cost less in CW50 – the least price drops can be seen for thin glass, which is down single-digits, while all the other products have fallen in the double-digit range. The largest price drop is for reusable Chinese polysilicon of up to -70.2%. But while silicon prices have more or less stabilized at very low levels in recent months, module prices are facing new record lows – now down by up to -49.7% for PERC monofacial, whereas n-type wafers are approaching the silicon level, now down up to -60.9% YtD. All cell types listed have now crossed the -40% level, approaching module price drops YtD. Only 3.2 mm glass costs more (1.8%) than at the beginning of the year.
