Following calendar week 47 where most products in the TaiyangNews PV Price Index kept their price levels WoW, the trend only partly continued into CW48. 2 polysilicon types, 1 wafer type and all cell types listed saw price declines, while there were no changes in prices for modules and solar glass.?
In CW48, prices for 2 polysilicon varieties listed were down low-single-digits, with n-type silicon prices decreasing -0.7% WoW and Chinese polysilicon prices decreasing -1.5%. In CW47, n-type silicon prices were down the same amount (-0.7%), while reusable Chinese polysilicon lost -0.8% WoW.??
Only the p-type 182 mm, 150 μm wafer lost value (-2.1%) WoW in CW48, the same as in CW47. All other wafer types listed maintained their prices WoW.??
After a week of no price changes, all cell types lost value WoW in CW48. Prices for PERC p-type bifacial 182 mm were down -2.2%, while PERC p-type bifacial 210 mm lost the most at -18.3%. TOPCon n-type 182 mm cells lost the least value WoW, at -2.0%.?

After CW47, where 3 module types saw low-single-digit price declines, there were no changes in module prices in CW48. In CW47, the PERC monofacial p-type, 182 mm prices decreased -2.0%, PERC bifacial p-type, 182 mm by -1.0%, and TOPCon bifacial n-type, 182 mm by -0.9%
Solar glass varieties listed continued their several week-long inertia after they had made sudden jumps upward in CW35 – the thicker one by 9.8% (3.2 mm), the thinner product by 8.1% (2.0 mm).?
On a year-to-date basis, the products in all categories of this index but one cost less in CW48 – the least price drops can be seen for thin glass, which is down single-digits, while all the other products have fallen in the double-digit range. The largest price drop is for reusable Chinese polysilicon of up to -70.0%. But while silicon prices have more or less stabilized at very low levels in recent months, module prices are facing new record lows – now down by up to -46.4% for PERC monofacial, whereas n-type wafers are approaching the silicon level, now down up to -60.9% YtD. 2 cells listed have now crossed the -40% level, approaching module price drops YtD. Only 3.2 mm glass costs more (1.8%) than at the beginning of the year.?
