Solar EV/PV/ Bidirectional Microgrids - Endless Range EVs

Sol - " Whether commuting to work or camping off the grid, your options are limitless. Each futuristic EV vehicle could generate enough solar power for up to 1500 miles of cross country driving. Plus, you can travel up to 10,000 miles upon smart PV conductive asphalt limited only by oceans. The average American drives less than 30 miles per day, so most futuristic EV owners will never have to plug their vehicle in to charge ever. Worldwide Solar/ EV/ PV adoption “Dirty Grid Independence ”? No DG Allowed! " Why isn't every automobile manufacturer on the planet trying to emulate this technology?

This is interesting! Is there a proof of concept or visuals of that technology?

Sol - " Yes lots of evidence the human race is heading this way IE, Solar Roadways has been on our radar since the conception, seems a prefect marriage between light EVs and a surface for electricity production already very proxy transmission wise. Maybe some type of electrically conductive asphalt/ concrete using a technology known as conductive charging."

Response 2

" This sounds interesting. Although not new as I've seen a number of prototypes everywhere, including in Africa. I'm curious to know the safety features of such solar EV/PV against flying objects on the highway. More so, risk analysis and cost of damage in the case of accident needs to be revealed and compared with regular BEVs."

Sol - " We have considered a type of PV/EV like bumber cars at a park that will simply bounce off each other without accident as well roadways lined with bounce bumbers. The road surfaces could be as simple as painted on photovoltaic active substrate layers with fresh coats added when needed. "

" Off topic a bit on the discussion- From the consumer standpoint, we have been seeing EV-PV interrelationship in adoption patterns at the household level.

The Electric Vehicle

Sol - " The lower 48 states have over 52,000 acres of empty roadside land at interstate exits suitable for solar energy development. Placing solar panels at these exits could generate up to 36 tera-watt hours (TWh) a year - that's enough to power 12 million passenger EVs. The value of this energy generated by roadside solar is an estimated $4 billion per year."

Response 4

" Unfortunately, contribute to greater congestion and development at these same locations since that which is harvested must be distributed ( and that infrastructure is not there..? "

Sol - " We are talking about decades into the future as technology layering evolves into the next dispensation after the paradigm shifts. We are now looking at the very foundations upon which the solar age of humanity will be built upon."

Response 5

" But kicking the can into the "future" argument just puts off what may need to happen..why not make a "build it and they will come" be an action ?"

Sol - " Lets make it a Solar Can we kick into the future. Past generations ran off the grass that horses ate, those folks could of never imagined the horsepower that was to come, that needed not the grass nor the gas. A square yard of solar panel can produce about 1 horsepower. In 1885, the compact high-speed single-cylinder four-stroke engine installed in car. The engine output was 0.75 hp which had a top speed of 10 miles per hour. Current average EV goes 90 miles an hour with 300 mile range with 60 horsepower. America alone has a, 4 million mile road system. Do the math- roads are 30 feet across not counting the mediums.. In the future fewer people will be using the highways as PV self-powered AI factories, home offices, home schooling, also the clustering of community cottage industries, and organic gardening will become the norms. Commerce is already moving thru the internet, and the PV Maglev, or electric railways will be rebuilt for heavier commerce to distribution centers near every population again. When one heads out onto the PVays plenty of energy to transport as trips will be GPS coordinated pre-energized in advance before even leaving home. Truth is your Smart AI/EV car may know more about where you are going than you do which is already becoming the case with these self -driving technologies. "
