On Thursday 2nd?May 2024 London will elect a Mayor and 25 London Assembly members.
The Mayor of London plays an important role in ensuring that survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence are supported, including funding victim services, oversight and accountability for the Metropolitan Police and strategic direction for housing in London. The London Assembly holds the Mayor of London to account.?
Despite recent improvements in legislation, funding and strategies we are still a long way from the goal of eradicating violence against women and girls in London.?
Solace pledges
We are asking Mayoral and Greater London Assembly (GLA) candidates to sign our four pledges to demonstrate their commitment to achieving this goal so that all women and girls can live free from the fear and reality of male violence and flourish in London.?

Women's Rough Sleeping Census Report
Women are under-represented in rough sleeping statistics and provision, yet research, lived experience and the experiences of services tell us that women are some of the most vulnerable within the rough sleeping population.
The London Women’s Rough Sleeping Census aims to collect more comprehensive data on women experiencing rough sleeping and trial a different method of data collection.
The most recent census was conducted in September 2023 in London and in 14 local authorities across England.
