Software Engineering in Miami.

Software Engineering in Miami.

It’s been a funny old year hasn’t it?

Mid-pandemic we decided to launch develop because software engineering recruitment wasn’t good enough. All too often, candidates were put forward for the wrong role, because the Consultant didn’t know how to interpret their experience properly.

So, we set out to fix it. We’re changing the game and raising the bar for software engineering recruitment, starting in the UK, expanding to Germany and now we’ve launched new location: Miami.

We aren’t the first UK recruitment agency to try to crack America, and we surely won’t be the last. But, while you’ll find many of them in Silicon Valley or Austin, TX, we might be alone in Miami. And this isn’t just a virtual office – we plan to have a physical presence in the Magic City by this time next year.

But why Miami?

According to our research, they need us.

There are approximately 44,000 Software Engineers in the Miami area, and 80 per cent of those we surveyed told us they’d had a negative experience with a Head-hunter. That’s not good enough.

82 per cent of those responsible for making hiring decisions told us they’d had a negative experience. Not good enough.

Miami is about to boom. It is on the edge of emerging as an incredible tech hub. There is so much going for the city, from its beauty to its culture, its excellent universities, strategic location, low tax burden… the list goes on.

But if it’s going to attract top tech talent from around the country – and the world – it needs specialists to help it get there.

The competition is fierce. Critics have been predicting the downfall of Silicon Valley for years, but the area still receives much more than its fair share of funding and is still considered a ‘safe bet’ for start-ups and tech businesses.

And Austin is a contender too, a city which shares some of the advantages Miami has – good weather, low taxes, lower cost of living.

So why are start-ups and entrepreneurs choosing to make their base in Miami? And why should Software Engineers follow suit?

We’ve put together an in-depth report on software engineering in Miami, which includes the findings from our own original research. Inside you’ll find exactly why Miami is such an exciting prospect, how Software Engineers feel about the Magic City, and what the area needs in order to fulfil its potential. And, of course, how we intend to help.

We’ve made the full report available for free, here. Take a look.?
