Software 4.0 in action! At last - the 360 degree view of patient engagement in the cloud!

Software 4.0 in action! At last - the 360 degree view of patient engagement in the cloud!

I’ve been doing this a while, but every once in a while I’m still amazed at how “digital” is changing our lives. This week I’ve been in New York City at the C-Suite conference meeting, talking and exchanging ideas with some really fascinating people all brought together by Jeffrey Hayzlett. I just got done with an interview with Jeff, where we talked about how Software 4.0 is “future-proofing” companies from disruption… I’ll explain that more in another post, but we now take for granted things that were unimaginable even a few years ago.

Speaking of things not imaginable a few years ago… We’re gearing up for Dreamforce, Salesforce’s annual mega convention (October 4-7, Moscone, San Francisco). This year you can find us in the healthcare section. We’re looking forward to catching up with lots of old and new friends across the industry.

We’re focusing a lot on digital at Persistent and the healthcare work we’re doing with Salesforce, most recently on its Health Cloud platform, is a great example of the power of digital. The common thread of our many collaborations with Salesforce is the software-driven nature of our joint solutions – we call Software 4.0 – delivering digital across industries!

A great demonstration of Software 4.0 is one of our latest offerings, Patient 360. It’s designed specifically for healthcare but really is a horizontal solution which can be adapted to the special requirements of any particular vertical, which I’ll be talking more about later too… But this is an area we see massive opportunity around digital transformation – bringing the world of big data, mobile access and new levels of interactivity to help drive new levels of customer relations.

Patient360, as its name implies, is an end-to-end, or better stated a circular, care coordination system that offers a 360-degree view of patient data, tasks, treatment timelines, progress, and future appointments. All in a flexible, extendable and secure system without physicians or nurses ever leaving Salesforce. Relevant information can be pulled from any of the diverse and distributed data sources, such as prior visits, diagnosis, patient profiles, community collaboration and internal knowledge bases to name just a few.  With Patient360 healthcare professionals are seeing:

·      Increased patient satisfaction

·      Seamless workflows with early warnings to reduce the cascading effect of, for instance, appointment cancelations

·      Improved productivity with automated processes and less manual data entry

·      Reduced calls between departments (and reduced delays!) because of the unified patient view

That all sounds pretty exciting to me!

Last time I posted I provided a little Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald… As we’re getting excited to see you all at Dreamforce in a few weeks, let me remind you that October is basically still Summer in San Francisco… which reminds me of one of my favorite Sinatra songs! So here you go!

Look forward to seeing all of you!
