Soft Skills

Soft skills are your personal qualities that you develop as you go through life, without any specific training. Your problem-solving skills, collaborating skills, communication and time-management will all be classified as soft skills.

These skills are important when it comes to employability as an employer wants to see whether you’d be a good team fit.

It will also benefit you to develop these skills further as it’ll improve your job satisfaction and productivity.

Individuals with strong soft skills like communication and problem-solving are often the ones who end up running companies.

Hard Skills

Hard skills on the other hand are technical based. These are skills which you have developed from learning specific skillsets whether through education, certifications, or previous job experience.

A few examples of hard skills include coding, data analytics, and UX design. Hard skills are usually on the requirements of job ads as the business needs a particular skill.

By having some hard skills under your belt, it allows you to develop your niche and become a valuable member within the tech community. This will boost future employment opportunities and allow you to become more efficient with your tasks.

When it comes to your CV, be sure to mention both your soft and hard skills, but pay close attention to the hard skills required to do the job.
