Operational Sustainability

Plastic is one of our time's most pressing issues; disturbing evidence indicates that if we continue to live this way, our oceans may eventually contain more plastic than fish. Saying goodbye to single servings is a necessary step for any green hotel. Substitute single portions of honey, jam, sugar, cereals, yogurts, and other breakfast staples with glass containers and distributors.

Operational Practices

#sofiacolombocityhotel has introduced LED lights, using compostable plastic, installing drinking water stations rather than giving out water bottles, using light sensors and timers, and instituted an at-will linen washing policy when guests occupy the same room over multiple days

#sofiacolombocityhotel Corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and our own associates' well-being were prioritized through a wide range of activities during the year. The marine road cleanup initiative, blood donations, eye clinic sports, and cultural events were all successful, and we hope to continue engaging.

From expanding women's presence in leadership and decision-making to dispersing care work and productive resources, #sofiacolombocityhotel has taken steps to empower female leaders. The path to a gender-equal and sustainable future begins with taking action.
