Sod turning for the Southwest Medical Precinct
The development of Meadowbrook’s medical precinct is going strong with todays sod turning at Logandowns Drive.
Joined by the Deputy Mayor Jon Raven, Horwell Group director Benjamin Horwell and associates this morning we turned soil for the Southwest Medical Precinct which will be a multi-level facility comprising over 2,000 square meters of mixed retail, medical and office space. Designed by Cottee Parker Architects the site will also include free parking to ensure it is convenient and accessible. This precinct will provide essential specialists services for nearby residential aged care facilities and will assist with overflow from the Logan Hospital only 200 meters away.
The University of Queensland’s primary care, clinical innovation and research organization UQ Health Care will also be onsite to provide an extensive range of health services including treatment for acute illness, preventive health services, health assessments and chronic disease prevention and management.
This will be a great attainment for Logan and the Deputy Mayor and myself are very honoured to have been involved with it's progression in Division 6. Thank you to the Horwell family and their company for having faith to invest in our city and helping to bring more jobs and opportunity to our area. I would also like to thank Logan City Council officers Jason Sandhar (Head of International Relations and Health & Medical Investments), Tate Ryan (Economic Development & Place Management) & David Radich (Economic Development and Strategy) for their continued hard work in council assisting great outcomes such as this for our city.
