The International Conference; Society and the Sea: Investinblue – The Values of the Ocean and Coasts for Sustainable Development was hosted by National Maritime and the Greenwich Maritime Centre, Maritime Greenwich, London, 6th -7th September 2018.

Cammell Laird were pleased to present our business investment strategy at the Conference. The Conference Dinner was under the Cutty Sark (an impressive venue).

The Conference welcomed nearly 200 leading figures from business and academia from more than 10 countries who gave over 100 presentations across ocean themes of industry, history, conservation, perceptions and how the blue economy is driving economic growth.

Highlights included:

·         Official Launch of the new Marine Social Science Network by Dr Emma McKinley

·         Twelve leading business figures and stakeholders promoting the UK maritime sector across four key Investinblue sessions

·         Official conference dinner under the iconic Cutty Sark with Paul Rose, Expedition leader for National Geographic Pristine Seas Expedition

·         Closing conference key note address by leading British Environmentalist, Tony Juniper
