Did you see?

The world of digital marketing is constantly changing and you don’t want to miss a thing. Here are a few exciting changes in the marketing world:

Social Surge Biz Updates from the Team.

What's Going Well:

  • Social Team: The team continues to grow our knowledge and expertise in META ads, and they’re performing the best we’ve ever seen and are nailing down the process for our clients.
  • SEO Team: I’d say the best piece that we’ve leaned into the past few months (and have started to “perfect”) is our process for content completion. I think previously we underestimated how important having a true process would impact our work but with more hands touching a part of getting content (pages/blogs) done for clients, having clearly outlined steps, responsibilities, and goals (keyword targets, etc.) has been a game changer for us as a team.
  • Management Team: This quarter we fully rolled out our new client quarterly planning process and the team KILLED it. Our clients are going to majorly benefit from this new process which is there to make sure we are all aligned and have clear objectives to accomplish.

What Isn't:

  • Social Team: Using sarcasm or sassiness in social media content for specific clients which ended up coming across negatively/in a way we didn’t intend.
  • SEO Team: One area that we’ve been working a lot on the past few months is the connection from content writing to web design. I wouldn’t say it’s “not going well” but at times I’d say it’s been one of our “weaker” areas just due to the question of what should come first, the design of a page, or the copy (chicken vs. egg sort of feel). We’ve seen a lot of steps in the right direction but as much as I’ve studied up on it and others looking into it, there doesn’t seem to be a “traditional” or “right” way to do it so it’s been a bit of a growing pain but we’re getting better.
  • Management Team: One of the only constants in the world of marketing is change. Right now, we are working hard to overhaul our social media services to ensure that we are maximizing the results and value for our clients. It’s taking…. a bit longer than expected, but no need to worry! These updates are going to be rolled out here soon!

Stuff We've Learned:

  • Social Team: Once a post goes live on Instagram, there isn’t a way to edit that post to add music. If you want music in your post, it must be added beforehand or be posted manually.
  • SEO Team: As simple and not exciting as this might be, I’d say one of the biggest “learnings” we’ve had is how important communication is for each step of our content process and just overall web/SEO work is. So many of our older tasks (be it web changes or content) would struggle at times because we wouldn’t clearly communicate what needed to be done and the timeline in which it should be done. We struggled at times to truly understand what the client wanted and then that would be miscommunicated to who was doing the work. We’ve stepped our game up massively here and work to over-communicate rather than try to find the right amount because we’d rather have too much information and be able to complete the work seamlessly rather than too little info and just guess what needs to be done.
  • Management Team: We have learned so much over the last 2 quarters as we rolled out EOS company-wide. We are still making adjustments to our internal processes and tweaking things every day, but the processes we have learned about and implemented internally have had an INCREDIBLE impact on how we serve our clients every day.
