The world of digital marketing is constantly changing and you don’t want to miss a thing. Here are a few exciting changes in the marketing world from this past month:


Social Surge Biz Updates from the Team.


What's Going Well:

  • Social Team: We recently had a team member out for an international vacation for a few weeks, and our team was more than happy to help out where and when needed. We had her accounts, community management, graphics, and client communication handled and we all chipped in to make sure she could have a stress-free vacation. #TeamFirst
  • SEO Team: We recently rewrote a lot of pages and blogs that were heavily AI generated and the turnaround we’ve seen for a client because of this (and other aspects we’ve “fixed”) has been insane. They’ve shot up to a 50%+ increase in keywords since July and their local keywords have seen some massive improvement. We also added a new team member SAMMI! She’s a new content specialist for us and has been rocking and rolling out of the gate!
  • Management Team: We have never seen our “Awesome Education” slack channel become more active than it was in August. The amount of knowledge that the team is seeking and sharing with each other has been an amazing sight. Not only are we all benefiting from the knowledge, but it is giving teams that normally don’t talk to one another ideas of what each other is focused on and thinking about. Also, we are all super excited to have welcomed Sammi, our new Content Specialist, to the team!


What Isn't:

  • Social Team: This past month we’ve grown to understand on a deeper level that all clients are different. They want to see different aspects during monthly meetings, talk about different things each check-in, and dive into different topics than others. Since learning a bit more about this previous quarter, we’ve learned to adapt our agendas now more than ever to fit client wants and needs.
  • SEO Team: This is a bit tough since the past month has been full of positives but our capacity has been one of the bigger “issues” we’ve had. It’s such a good thing to have a lot of work and push ourselves but with rewriting the AI content, onboarding a new team member, and quarterly strategy starting, our capacity has been pretty full for the whole team, which has limited new clients we can take on (not a bad thing right now though).
  • Management Team: We have one more goodbye coming up soon with our long-time Social Media specialist Camille leaving in September. She has been an amazing part of our team and has been here through major changes and growth. We are excited for her and her next adventure, but saying goodbye is never fun.


Stuff We've Learned:

  • Social Team: Going above and beyond for your clients sometimes helps them see the benefit of services they weren’t receiving. For example, we’ve been giving some clients reels/TikToks here and there that don’t have them in their contracts. We’ve gone that extra mile because we knew that our ideas were trendy and would be impactful—and we’ve helped two clients so far see the benefit of adding that service to their strategy.
  • SEO Team: A big thing we've learned this month is the impact that rewriting old content has. So many people want to focus on new content but capturing the authority and “history” of old content by rewriting or merging it has helped many of our clients’ performance and overall image. Another would be the importance of communication within our team and hearing everyone’s thoughts/opinions. The more people have experienced (writing, optimizing, design, etc.) the better the conversations have been and everyone has brought a lot of great ideas to the table. If you have a team, listen to them.
  • Management Team: More is not always better when it comes to analytics. We are working on changing how we present data to clients to make things more concise, easier to understand, and more focused on the goals we set with them. It is really tempting to put a bunch of data in front of a client (especially when everything is on the way up) but your message can get lost if you cannot tell the story in a concise way.
