Social selling is when salespeople use social media to interact directly with their prospects. Salespeople will provide value by answering prospect questions and offering thoughtful content until the prospect is ready to buy.

Social media is fast becoming the go-to channel for sales people to find new prospects and reach their sales targets. In fact, 90% of top performing sales people now use social media as part of their sales strategy.

And for sales reps that do invest in social media, 64% of them hit their team quota  – compared to only 49% of reps hitting their team quota that don’t use social media.

There was a research done by shopify which analyzes well over 500,000 orders as result of social traffic, clues us into the booming state of social commerce. Some notable figures from the study include…

  • Instagram boasts the highest average order value ($65) of the “big four” social commerce sites
  • Facebook, Instagram and YouTube are the only major social platforms with a conversion rate over 1%
  • Two-thirds of all social media visits to Shopify stores originate from Facebook

LinkedIn Sales Navigator – Anyone serious about their outbound sales needs Sales Navigator.

Leadfeeder – Enables you to uncover anonymous website visitors and turn them into sales leads.

Vidyard – A great tool for video email follow-ups. Use this to stick out in someone’s inbox.

UpContent – A great platform for finding relevant articles to share

Clearbit Connect – Google Chrome plugin that helps you find out more about the people in your inbox.

Find That Lead Prospector – An incredible new prospecting tool.

Reply.io – My favorite tool for outbound email automation.

BuiltWith – A plugin that tells you what technologies a company is using just from looking at their website.

Promo Republic – A social media design tool that makes it really easy to create good graphics.
