5.17 billion social media users globally, indicating that over 63% of the global population uses social media platforms. Concurrently, data from the ad planning tools of leading social media platforms reveals that in 2024, there were 52.70 million users aged 18 and above actively utilizing social media in Bangladesh, which accounted for approximately 43.8 percent of the total population aged 18 and above within the country at that time. Let's talk about social media.

Social media refers to online platforms and websites that allow users to create, share, and interact with content created by others. The platforms allow individuals to connect with others, share ideas, opinions, photos, videos, and other media, as well as conduct various forms of communication. Social media platforms are popular today, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat, and TikTok.
Social media focuses vary, but some common ones include:
Connecting People: The primary goal of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn is to facilitate communication and connect people. Content Sharing: Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube are primarily focused on sharing visual content.
Networking: Professional networking and career development are the main focuses of LinkedIn.Information Sharing: People use Twitter and Reddit to share news, information, and opinions.
Community Building: Social platforms like Facebook Groups and Reddit communities provide a space for niche communities to gather around shared interests.Entertainment: Social media platforms like Snapchat, Twitch, and TikTok emphasize entertainment and feature user-generated content, challenges, and trends.
