Social Media Wars: Winter is Coming, But Don't Panic
TL;DR: Whew, there have been lots of changes in the social media realm this week with TikTok and Meta. Let's dive in!
If you’re feeling like Jon Snow standing on the wall, peering out into a blizzard of uncertainty, I get it. A lot’s happening in the digital world, and the rumors are swirling like wildfire in King’s Landing.
First, the whispers: Apparently, the recent 24-hour TikTok "ban" might not have been a ban at all. Word on the street is that this could’ve been a server transfer from ByteDance (TikTok’s owner) to Meta (yes, Zuck’s Meta). And speaking of Meta, their “no fact-checking” policy announcement has sparked a mass exodus from Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
It’s giving Red Wedding vibes—unexpected moves, strategic plays, and major consequences for everyone in the realm.
But here’s the thing: just like the Starks knew winter was inevitable, we as digital entrepreneurs know change is inevitable too.

So, what should we do right now?
In my humble opinion: SIT TIGHT. We don’t need to storm the castle or abandon ship. Instead:
We don’t know if TikTok’s realm will become Meta territory, or if Meta’s no-fact-checking policy will crumble its kingdom. But what we do know is this: as digital business owners, adaptability is our Valyrian steel.
So sharpen it, keep building, and remember, chaos isn’t a pit—it’s a ladder.
Here’s to conquering the digital thrones,

1 个月Jai Stone Great quickie and awesome advice. I’m literally in “case open, code entered” mode, hesitating to push the big red button to begin the nuclear disconnect across social. Then I remembered that now it would be like cutting off my indentiy in part 2 of this century. So I just cried and asked myself “why”. ??????????????????????????
