Summer is approaching, so in the next few weeks I’ll be creating some content for you that shares how to get organised for the summer, so that you can keep your business social content going, but give yourself or your team a really good break! So keep your eyes peeled for that.
In the mean time, I have some industry updates for you, a handy content writing tip that you can start using right away, and some thoughts on how you can use AI to help you with marketing.
Instagram has rolled out Broadcasts globally.
They have reported “unparalleled engagement from fans whether they’re sharing sneak peeks of upcoming content, asking for feedback via polls and sharing candid moments via voice notes.” so it may be a feature worth looking out for. Great to keep some exclusivity in your content, and nurture a warm audience too.
TikTok Shop is testing Visual Search in select international markets. This feature lets users snap a photo and search for items in their visual inventory using the image. A promising development especially for product based businesses, and another tool that TikTok is leading the market with. (How long until we see it on Instagram! ??)
LinkedIn is retiring its three long-time features, carousel images (not the PDF version), videos for profiles, and the ability to embed clickable links within images and videos. Such a shame.
Twitter is making some changes to focus more on video and commerce. They want to put a stronger emphasis on these areas and explore new opportunities in online shopping.
I recently shared a post about four surprising ways AI can help your content and marketing efforts, and it doesn’t include writing captions. Things like
?increase customer engagement,
?enhance your marketing efforts,
?and improve ROI.

? I'm super happy to share that I've been featured in an insightful article published by Hootsuite. ?
In the article, I shared my expertise and perspective on what it takes to become a successful social media consultant. Drawing from my own experience, I talked about flexibility when you are a social media specialist, and also shared that we need to be scientists when we approach our content. Never underestimate the impact experimentation can have in your social media!

Use a number … like I did above ??. Simple lists are always well received, and giving the number means people are more inclined to look at the whole caption to see what they are. They also work really well as a carousel post.
“Stop doing this xxx if you want to achieve this.” Your answer may not be quite so clear cut and much more nuanced, but your audience will want to know why you feel their behavior/choice needs to change.
"Imagine walking down the street and spotting something that changes your entire perspective...” Using intrigue and story telling always makes us pay attention! We just need to know what they spotted! And that curiosity gives us time to share our valuable information with them.
I hope you find these updates and suggestions helpful for your business. If you have any questions or need more help, just give me a shout. Wishing you an amazing summer ahead!
