-60% of the world's population uses social media; the average daily usage is 2 hours and 24 minutes

- 4.80 billion people around the world now use social media, and 150 million new users have come online within the last 12 months

- of the top 4 social media platforms, 3 are owned by Meta. Facebook is the most-used platform.

- the rapid growth of TikTok shows no sign of slowing. Since 2020, the number of internet users who say they use TikTok monthly has risen by 40%. TikTok had 1.4 billion monthly active users in 2022 and is expected to reach 1.8 billion by the end of 2023.
