Social Media in September 2016 - SnapShot
It's not every month you have a major social media app rename itself and release a new product. In September we saw SnapChat officially become Snap Inc while also releasing Snap Spectacles.

This change in brand name took place in September 24th as they announced the release of Spectacles, their new type of camera (see below). Stating that their brand now encompassed more than one product, it was relevant that the name reflected their multiple projects.
Snap Spectacles
History in the making. This is the first time a social media platform has ever designed and built hardware specifically for their platform. Would you wear these Snap Spectacles? Available in three colours.
Instant Videos in Facebook Messenger
This is one of those features you thought already existed. Maybe a sign that it is a natural addition to Facebook Messenger. Before this update it was only possible to record a video and then send it via messenger. Now your contact can watch your video in real-time.
US citizens register to vote via Twitter
The US election is certainly hotting up and looks to be a historic one. As you can imagine, it is important that everyone casts a vote and, as such, Twitter is looking to add an alternative way to register to vote. This is significant as it may herald a new way of engaging voters to take part in the election of their governments.
Pinteresting TV stats
Recent statistics from Pinterest show a correlation between Pinterest activity and TV. In fact, it seems some savvy brands are already utilising this correlation to drive traffic and engagement on their profiles within the platform.
