Social Media Presence(s)

"They're Petersens, Harry. Clever as they come, Petersens, but not the most social of beasts. Best stay close." -Rubeus Hagrid

The social media versions of Dolores Umbridge and her Inquisitorial Squad necessitate the use of other rooms of requirement for the safe practice of Defense Against the Dark Arts.

I can't say that I'm "leaving" Twitter (not solely because of He Who Must Not Be Named), but I will likely become more active elsewhere in the future and diversify my social media portfolio, so to speak. Diagon Alley isn't what it used to be, my friends.

For everyone making or considering the change, please keep yourselves as safe as possible. Multi-factor authentication can be a royal pain in the rear, but it can also hide us from the Death Eaters! As tempting as it may be, don't use the same password all over. The potential blast radius makes a Hungarian Horn-Tail's fire look like a cigarette lighter.

If you're surprised that I didn't write this post entirely in Princess Bride memes, perhaps the parallels between some social media apps and the Fire Swamp are just too apt. The flame spurts and ROUSes are all around us. A terribly comfortable black mask is not enough!
