Social media marketing at this point is a pretty mundane topic for most tech marketers. But amazingly, I still see this very mainstream activity underutilized, especially among early-stage tech companies.
Many founders and early-stage managers just don't feel that they have the time or resources to maximize their efforts. But in reality, being great at social media marketing can allow a smaller company to "punch above its weight" in its market. In particular, it can be a great equalizer when it comes to a disadvantage in budgets versus larger competitors. Because while having additional resources and scale can help in this activity, it's no replacement for "great".
This allows a smaller, nimbler, and more savvy young company to have an outsized presence on very important marketing platforms. It doesn't come easy and most definitely takes real effort. But do it well and it can be one of the highest ROI marketing activities within your grasp at an early stage.
