Social Media: It's not rocket science!

Actually, it more "People Science" than anything else, but on a massive scale.
Every day, without fail, I get emails from folks who want to have a social media presence, but they do not know where to begin. Many, quite frankly, have read too much about it and consider themselves experts, though they have never posted anything onto a company site in their lives.
Folks, you can become so smart to the point that you are stupid.
Those of us who have DOCUMENTED success in this ever changing arena know what to do to help, all you have to do is give us these very simple objectives:
1. What is the product or services you wish to promote
2. What is your idea fanbase
3. What are your current customers like?
4. Are you seeing this as a sales or branding tool
Then let us go!
Trust me, a seasoned Social Media/Digital Marketing Professional knows what to do.
But, it does take time to create a fanbase, so be patient.
But there are some ways that you can help!
1. Recommend your company's fan pages to those in your circle of influence. Friends, family and such.
2. Get your employees to do the same!!
3. Let your customers know! Show some pride about your pages and invite your customers to become fans. When they make a purchase, take a video of the event and share it! This encourages engagement and potential sales, but it helps on SEO.
