Happy Halloween! Chloe was our Halloween best dressed this year as voted for by you - a bottle of Whispering Angel was her treat. Well done Chloe, a fantastic effort. ?

SOCIAL MEDIA NEWS
Here’s a snapshot of what happened in social media news this month.
Next time you’re looking to leverage a trending track, think beats not banjos: TikTok has announced a new Electronic Music Hub feature to further promote the genre, capitalizing on a 70% year-on-year increase for #ElectronicMusic searches.
Take Carousels for a spin and super-charge your reach: Instagram boss Adam Mosseri has suggested Carousels benefit from a bigger push from the platform’s algorithm than other content forms, particularly when paired with music.
Facebook memes are about to get a deep fake revamp: Meta has announced ‘Movie Gen’, a new AI model that can generate video and sound based on user prompts.
TikTok has Amazon in its sights: Following success in melding social and shopping in China, the platform is ramping up its shopping offer as we hurtle towards Christmas with the Fall Deals For You campaign, offering discounts on thousands of products.
Creators are not happy with Instagram: Meta, the world’s seventh richest company is looking to save costs by lowering the quality of older, lower-performing reels.

WHAT STOPPED OUR SCROLL…
?Former Buzzfeeder and content creator Safiya Nygaard’s latest video is a fascinating look at TikTok Lives and how the platform is used by businesses. Buying the first five things she saw on TikTok Live, it’s interesting to see how the algorithm matches her profile interests as well as the unique sales techniques used by creators.
On the spookiest day of the year, Dunkin Doughnuts have raised the game with their creation, Spider Donut! Taking a single photo and using it across an entire meme-like campaign, it’s transformed their Instagram grid into something brilliantly
chaotic and hilarious.
?Strictly is back, which means so is their brilliant series of “hidden sounds”. A unique way to showcase behind-the-scenes content, it shows entertaining moments picked up by the mics that weren’t heard in the broadcast - from counting steps during a dance to chats as they head over to the judges, it’s a fun piece of content we always look forward to watching.
Unless you’ve been hiding in the Emerald City, you can’t escape the numerous content collabs with the upcoming Wicked film. From fashion partnerships and cosplay merch, to TikTok filters and fan screenings of small clips where the creators were encouraged to film as they watched. Although our personal favourite is this collab between RuPaul’s Drag Race and Wicked.?

WHAT IS THAT TREND?!
?Don’t be suspicious of this trend! The “Suspect is…” trend is a humorous skit between two people. While one person runs, someone behind the camera makes a light-hearted comment about the runner in the style of a police officer searching for them. From “suspect’s main personality trait is their cat” to “suspect is wearing the same three shirts on rotation”, there’s lots of fun to be had with this one.
This is a tasty trend that not everyone gets right! The “Hear Me Out’ trend involves choosing unconventional crushes and putting their photos onto a cake. A fun group activity trend, steer clear of attractive celebs and think more outside the box. Viral examples so far have included someone’s dad, characters from the movie Cars and the number 8.

CREATOR SPOTLIGHT
A comic content creator, eraybeyi’s skits have gone viral for their relatability and silliness. A mixture of trending content and his own sketches, he came onto our radar with his “aunties on a day out” reel.
See if you can spot the real-life aunties in the background of that very video!
