New TikTok Audience Insights Tool : TikTok has improved the insights tab on Ads Manager to provide marketers with more data about their audience, including user interests & behaviours, hashtag & creator interactions, and devices, among other filters.

TikTok's 2022 Discover List : TikTok has shared its 2022 Discover List, highlighting 50 platform creators who are driving positive impact, creating creative content, and growing strong audiences.

These have been organised under the following categories:

  • Changemakers: Driving social impact
  • Foodies: Creative chefs and home cooks
  • Icons: Leaders of key trends and culture
  • Innovators: Using creative formats and ideas on the platform
  • Originators: Creators who have started viral sounds, dances and aesthetics

Instagram is Testing a Hidden Reels Like Count : Instagram is currently testing a way to hide likes on Reels. This option would work the same way as hidden likes for static posts and carousels, where the users can see their own total number of likes, but not other users’ like count.

Meta ‘Social Skills’ Video Series : Meta has launched a new video series to help social media managers and marketers improve their social strategies. All the videos are around 4 minutes long and tackle topics such as:

  • A/B testing
  • Audience analytics
  • Building community
  • Ad creative tips
  • Building brand impact

YouTube Tests Product Tags for Shorts : This potential update would allow creators to add product tags for purchase within their Shorts so that it would be a new monetisation option.

LinkedIn Brand Safety Hub : LinkedIn has launched a Brand Safety hub for its Audience Network ads to enable advertisers to find out more about the platform’s network of publishing partners and control where ads will appear.

What marketers will be able to do on this hub:

  • Download the list of LinkedIn Audience Network publishers
  • Customise the allow and block lists
  • Leverage Third-Party Brand Suitability and Contextual Alignment via DoubleVerify

Twitter Will Resume the Blue ‘Verification’ Badge : Elon Musk has confirmed that, on November 29th, Twitter will resume with a revised version of the ‘verification’ blue badge that caused many impersonation issues the past week.

So far, neither Elon nor Twitter have shared what this ‘revised version’ will look like.

Twitter Resignations and Closed Offices : Last week, an anonymous source leaked that Elon Musk gave an ultimatum to employees to work ‘long hours at high intensity’ or leave, which led to a wave of resignations.

These departures included many engineers responsible for fixing bugs and service outages, which raised questions about the stability of the platform. On Friday, Twitter ‘closed offices’ temporarily without reasons given until Monday (today).
