Reels Now Have a Sound.

In the same way as TikToks have an end-screen & sound, now Instagram Reels also have their signature sound. This sound will appear at the end of every downloaded Reel.

Is it necessary? Probably not.?According to Siera Sinclair, Sound Designer at Meta, this sound represents the imperfect creative essence of Instagram.

Pinterest Remixing & Sharing Collages.?

Due to Pinterest Shuffle’s popularity, the platform has made some improvements to encourage users to continue creating & sharing their collages.?

The new ‘Collages Remixing’ will allow users to edit existing collages, by replacing some cutouts or adding new ones on top. To ensure that the original creator gets the credit, there will be a small label on the left corner linking back to the original collage.?

Also, to ensure that users are sharing their collages outside of Pinterest and generate more awareness of the tool, the platform has introduced ‘Collages Sharing’, which exports the content in video format. It's worth noting that pin links won’t be accessible from other platforms, and there will be a watermark as well.?

Pinterest is so invested in this content format that it's already working on an ad format as well. We’ll keep an eye on any related updates!

Snapchat x Google.?

Snapchat’s CEO & Co-Founder, Evan Spiegel, announced that the platform has partnered with Google’s Gemini AI to provide users with solutions to visual problems.?

What does that mean? Users will be able to send their AI Snaps with questions, so the AI can propose a solution based on the image.?

We tested it to see what improvements we could make to the office, and it came back with some plant, wall art & decor recommendations, as well as some ads for office chairs.?

This new tool will help integrate AI into Gen Z’s day-to-day life in a more organic way, utilising a space they already use daily.?

Keyword Targeting for Search Ads on TikTok

TikTok is expanding its Search ads objectives and introducing Traffic and Web Conversion, as well as allowing advertisers to select relevant keywords when setting up campaigns.?

This is a great step forward for TikTok’s social commerce, as this update will aid advertisers in targeting specific keywords and placing their ads there when a user does a relevant search query.?

Discontinuing TikTok What??

TikTok has announced that they’re closing down their TikTok Music app. What is that, you might ask? Well, that’s exactly why they’re shutting it down.?

ByteDance launched TikTok Music last year (available in Indonesia, Brazil, Australia, Singapore and Mexico) to capitalise on TikTok’s popularity with music amongst its users. However, after TikTok’s issues with Universal Music earlier this year, and competing against music streaming services like Spotify, the company has decided to go offline on November 28th.?

Brand Safety & Misinformation Measurement.?

TikTok has expanded its third-party misinformation measurement for advertisers, to ensure brand safety.?

The platform has now announced that the platform will provide?advertisers with post-campaign misinformation data for the content that runs directly before and after their ads on the FYP. This is to reassure and encourage brands to advertise on the platform.?
