RUGBY UNION ARISTOCRACY! (A true super-motivating double-standards coin of entitlement of farcical proportions (circa 1995 - 2020, a failed experiment).

First-up, a CONFESSION TO MAKE: My only real 'sporting hero' is till today, Sir Steven Geoffrey Redgrave CBE DL is a British retired rower who won gold medals at five consecutive Olympic Games from 1984 to 2000. He has also won three Commonwealth Games gold medals and nine World Rowing Championships golds. He is the most successful male rower in Olympic history, and the only man to have won gold medals at five Olympic Games in an endurance sport. Also my respect to British people inventors of many human pursuits, some called sport!

This COVID 19, keep getting the worst and the best out of humanity. Leon has just recently started this old-new concept of looking after SELF, from the body/mind/and/soul platforms. By February an idea came to mind! A EUREKA moment. For the last 25 years Aristocratic Australian Rugby (just for the story, AAR) quite aptly managed to keep me away from any for of coaching, influencing, etc. In 1995 was appointed Forwards & Scrum Coach for the Australian Under 21's team which toured Zimbabwe and Argentina. I was also the Official Translator for the whole 36-strong travelling party. It was a great time had with the 'young-ones' (and we had a few of those of TV fame). Busy times but well worth it. So, 25 years, not even invited to talk to kindergarten kids or to coach infants. This tells you very clearly that if the ARU and its Board of Directors, were well prepared to forego experience and knowledge go to hell or purgatory, no worries mate.

BTW, I'm not the only one, to be unceremoniously dumped from 'the books' of rugby entertainment, and many time a good source of income. I CAN SEE A RESTRICTION OF TRADE writ coming on! - No less than two-dozen ex-internationals were left in limbo, "In the front garden but with no water supply". Many of those prefer to shut up and suck it up. Other like me and David Campese (Latino background) did not and do not hold back and tell the world about how shitty we were treated and that we felt like the whole sewer just showered us, or that we suffered from some mysterious highly transferable RUGBY VIRUS not good for the community.

Yes, indeed from Rugby to Oxford, to Cambridge and Sydney University, Qld University, Melbourne Uni, University of Buenos Aires (1873), etc. Moreover, when the British Railways settled in Patagonia and when the big ships took to Argentina loaded of Merino Rams and the whole family sheep (Many Welshman settled and founded Trelew, Ushuaia, Madryn Port and many other cities in Argentina's South.

If you love the rugby game that much, like all GPS Schools proclaim and intend to profess, How could you possibly forget the 'nurseries' and its caretakers? This tactic/strategy is akin to

We, the ex-wallabies are the ones that can transmit even in 'braille' (no offence given, none taken)!! Or even blind Freddy would do it, am sure you get the gist. We know better than any other from the 'Clipboard Brigade' Merit Stamps Collectors' or a foreigner that has never played test-match rugby. (A HUGE DIFFERENT KETTLE OF FISH). What an insane and obscene way waste resources, time, throw good money after bad money! also effect and community trust, sponsor loyalty (?), overall NO continuity in the business of rugby. NO WONDER RA IS TODAY STARING AT BANKRUPTCY!!! - In real big business - Top liquidator/friend once told me: A company to survive and thrive, must carry enough MULLAH reserves to be able to operate it for at the very least 24 months without income! Thus, Folks, an easy one for you, How is RA doing today?

Well, I decided at the end of December 2019, to continue with my philanthropy and volunteering work in diverse areas. One of my New Year's Resolutions was to, besides regularly throwing-rocks and grenades to the Town Hall, (aptly named by Greg Growden in those mid-late 1990s, the infamous "John O'Neill's Fort Fumble" (what-a-gem, on-ya-Greg). So have been putting time into something 'new', to do with 'Helping sporting grassroots' from the high-level

scientific supply of knowledge and experience. Nonetheless NOT ALONE. therefore, I've found with a great Group of Friends and professional, the ISSF (International Sports Sciences Forum) based in Carlton NSW (away from expensive Real Estate and handy-close to the train line, 200 metres from Kogarah Station (Mighty Dragons territory) I'm not a League follower yet I mix and talk with any of them, particularly at the Carlton Clutch & Brake Social Club.

With 24 years in the NFP and NGO place I feel more than sufficiently prepared to undertake the position of Convemmer and Leader.

So, here we are, finally contributing as it always has been my interest and intention. 'Happy as Larry' because this is a 'calling'. With 12 years running TRGOS (The Rugby Guild of Sydney, NFP); 7 years BIPOLAR Education Foundation (NFP); and 5 years with the Australian-Argentine Business Council (NFP). With 24 years in the NFP and NGO place I feel more than sufficiently prepared to undertake the position of Convemmer and Leader.

We have more than a dozen professionals ranging from Mental Health Management, Spinal Injuries Prevention, Concussion Research & Prevention, Sports Cardiology, Endocrinology, Physiotherapy, Traumatology, and more to come. WATCH THIS SPACE! Sayonara, Namaste!
