The Social Care | Social Housing Crossover - February

The Social Crossover

The Social Crossover newsletter is to provide you with valuable insight, real life experiences and collaboration across both sectors.

2025 is shaping up for a year of great challenges for the care sector. With the budget changes set to come in to play in April, this is a time to stand together as a sector and help each other when help is required.

Here at Trust Hire we aim to be that help for businesses across Recruitment, Retention and Growth.

What’s in store?

In this edition:

  • A summary of the 34 CQC statements that outline the standards of care that social providers must meet
  • An introduction to our readers of our new charity partner: Charlie's promise
  • A summary of our first Social Housing x Social Care crossover roundtable event and details on the next online webinar .

CQC Update??

What are the 34 statements?

The 34 statements replace the previous Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs) and focus on outcomes for people who use services rather than just processes, enabling a more people focused approach to care assessments.

The 34 CQC Quality Statements?outline the standards of care that health and social care providers in England must meet. They help ensure that services are safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led. These statements are designed to:

  1. Set Clear Expectations: They define what good care looks like for patients, families, and staff, providing a framework for high-quality service delivery.
  2. Support Assessment: The CQC uses these statements to inspect, monitor, and rate care providers. They assess whether organizations meet the required standards of care.
  3. Focus on Outcomes: The statements emphasize the impact of care on individuals, ensuring that services are tailored to meet personal needs and deliver meaningful improvements in people’s lives.
  4. Encourage Improvement: By setting benchmarks, the statements guide providers on areas needing enhancement, promoting better outcomes and higher levels of patient satisfaction.
  5. Ensure Accountability: They hold care providers responsible for maintaining and improving standards, ensuring transparency and trust in the care system.
