Sobah's Birthday

Sobah's Birthday

Sobah's 4th birthday!

We're celebrating (virtually) the incredible journey we've had so far!?

Technically, Sobah came about much earlier with our very first social media post on May 17th, 2017. But we celebrate at this time of the year as this commemorates the first time we packaged our brews in cans, established our e-commerce store, and collected our first retailers.

On the 8th Dec, 2017 we celebrated our official launch after a successful?Pozible campaign.?

This time every year we reflect on our growth, ups and downs, and do something a little special!

We're recapping some of our achievements including the?$1M raise through equity crowdfunding???, winning our first accolade ??, donations of products and cash for various causes, and the launch of Sobah Initiative -?the Sobah Life Podcast.?

This time next year, we hope to see as many of you as possible at the official launch of our brewery, Sobah's future spiritual home, at Burleigh Heads, Queensland.?

Here are some things we did in 2021!

We added more beer!????

New special release brews: Wattleseed Gold & the gluten free version Wattleseed Gold GF Ale.

We won an award for our impact in our community!????

We are so proud and honoured to have received our first award, the 2021 award for "Small Business Achievement" at the Queensland Community Achievement Awards. This award was amongst some incredible people, businesses and organisations doing a lot of good for their communities.?We're thrilled to be recognised for the impact we have made in our communities near and far!?

The Sobah Initiative

Establised alongside our launch in 2017, the Sobah Initiative is the reason we're in business! Our non-alc craft beer supports activities that seek to improve and support the welfare of our customers and community, as well as respect and protect our environment. The three main objective are:

  1. To raise awareness?to causes close to our hearts and provide a better choice for those wanting to do better
  2. To raise funds and valuable support?for grass roots organisations that are already doing great work but unfortunately struggle to get funded or recognition?
  3. To do it ourselves?- to run self-funded healing programs and workshops, and provide pro bono program coordination?for other organisations who need better support

In 2021 we donated over $20,000 worth in stock to charities and organisations!?

?In August,?Clinton went "half cut" to help protect and save the oldest rainforest in the world, The Daintree. This signified the beginning of a longer term commitment to supporting Half Cut Org buy back rainforest marked for development, and return the lands to the traditional custodians, the Eastern Kuku-Yalanji mob. We are so humbled to be able to support this great initiative and give back to the community.?

Sobah's news coverage????

Clinton and Lozen did so much positive media during the successful equity crowdfunding campaign that we almost lost track of it! There were live interviews at Sobah HQ in Burleigh with ABC News 24 with Karina Carvalho, ABC News Breakfast with Madeleine Morris, and also SBS News and Today Show Extra on Channel Nine.

Sobah founders become caricatures!

Sobah was mentioned in multiple news articles throughout the year, but the founders were turned into?caricatures for a story in The Courier Mail in October! That's when you know you've made it ??.

Queensland based Aussie craft beer industry legend Matt Kirkegaard interviewed Clinton and Lozen during the campaign and described it as the best podcast he’s done in years:?

Celebrating our vendors!

We strive to?celebrate?new and existing vendors by sharing some love throughout our emails so you know where to buy our brews.?

We're also deeply saddened that some of our vendors have not made it through the tough times in the past two years! We hope to see the awesome people behind these businesses re-emerge, like a phoenix from the fire, as we look forward to doing business with them again one day!

Check out our?stockist page?on our website to find vendors near you!
