Seeing the agile speed at which the FAA was moving the regulatory environment right along over the last couple of years, made things in the drone ecosystem look fairly promising - at least compared to how it could have all turned out.
Then bring the recent introduction of the "Drone Federalism Act of 2017 (Senate Bill 1272)" on May 25th by Sen. Diane Feinstein (D-CA) into the picture. And picture how you as a drone pilot or services provider are going to get any flying work done if this becomes a reality. A patchwork of State and local regulations with more restrictions may await you.
