So you are the Patient now...

So you are the Patient now...

YES. Period! With my role with the FDA. This topic is so IMPORTANT. This leaves the patient spot.

With the US using some the least used amount of Paid Time Off let alone any sick time for many, regardless of your role in your facility. As such, We (if we can picture a bell curve and within and that both ends of the bell curve, sub nuances). These present to the facility, to the doctors, entities, and sometimes not at all until they surface or not a bit down the "road that they are no longer "ringing anyone bells" during committee meetings, or chart reviews or outliers and agendas for this or that team or committee.

With this information kept in mind, many people want to get in and out FAST. They, may have put off that procedure to the very last minute they feel they can, but things since many be the last visit to to where ever or even the message they received from the same place or doctor is different now. (Remember doctors each have their own style of note taking during visits, documentation afterwards (same day or soon after), and you are not the only person they were likely to see that day. - picture yourself- dashing from one place or meeting to another, a device in hand, pad of paper, or phone, and someone stops you and says Hey, Jay, i know your busy, but remember x, y or z"... you jot it down and off you go. Well by the time you get back to them both you and "Jay" have already likely shifted priorities, your notes now seem irrelevent or off point in some way and when you go to clarify, nether (or both may or may not have gotten to the right point or now. This is no different than then for the patient for when they made the appointment.

As such, the vendors can help in triad of ways (or more or even less and streamline the process, reduce expenses both upfront and at the back end by considering the following:

- We, as patients for the most part are living longer. Our bodies, or some, have evolved, some not so much and "re-do's" of fixed "parts" are more common.

- Like any new habit, perhaps we can start out days differently and make new healthier habits

- Jot down changes. (Changes that you might have otherwise made a simple mental note on).

- Consider to REDUCE the total number of changes (or variables) you do when something causes you pain (You will not be as accurate in your self assessment to narrow what the true cause is or even if right, which was the real remedy.

- Maybe the way back to work, in way that fits your circumstances immediately, do not jump to any conclusions. You may be complicating the matter even more leaving you potentially at risk to a host of things you might not (alone with your provider/s to figure out is or is not related.
More inter/intradependant ideas, if interested: have you notices how effective may of committees work and last?)

Do not get me know wrong we need many of them. They are required in many areas for various reasons. it does not mean every matter has to be handled in the same fashion. This topic is one of them.

-Using the patient can be done by the following and I will give some reasons why-(not all inclusive and certainly not the complete answer, but could spur others to add to them or exceed what could be:

- Re-evaluate the new type of patients you have been receiving.

- Set up short cycle teams for this, not more that 3-5 sessions, maybe even just one if the case was so unique (why?)- even what might look simple usually have the most to offer in terms of generalized "principle/temple" development, that can re re-applied for a different and unrelated, seemingly topic, cause less distention among members- all leading to a slow but more trusting willingness to "try the tactic again.

- I invite at least 1 or more people you think are "disruptive" and have in your eyes nothing to do with the matter for many reasons which I can explain, if interested let me know here or privately bit understand I am dying and in a special nursing home until. SO willing to help, though. It just might take a few extra business days to connect...or I may have died. I would not just ignore you). With purpose, if you hear nothing within a few days, an notice of my death will be made by someone (with purpose I asked for no formal anything, but things leak and I still get hundreds of emails a day for work! (I still shocks me and I am so so simple...some know I am so ill many do not so, hence, me mentioning it again as I write for tons of these LinkedIn (related and not) and who knows how many other publications, etc., directly and then others re-post or quote (correct intent or not, etc.). Have a fabulous day or make it so! M
