When you began your business, “Marketing” was probably on the “back burner”.
Most small business owners don’t have the marketing knowledge that it takes to really succeed. Maybe you’ve dropped some serious money on books, cd’s, webinars, etc. Me too!
Most are at least somewhat helpful. Do you realize that less than 10% of all this media gets read! Or listened to, or watched. Even less of these ideas ever get implemented.

One of the techniques you should learn is “outcome based” advertising. If a Radio rep. hits you with a proposal, counter with an outcome you think is fair.

OK, wait a minute, you suggest if they fail to get those folks in the door, they will run the AD, FREE until you do.
Get ready for some awesome “Jaw Dropping”! Many will just say “sorry, we don’t do that” or “we need a defined schedule”.
90% of the time, it’s NOT the AD. It’s the OFFER!
I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase “Your only one AD/Email away from a $1,000,000” Do you think that’s true? Of course it is!
We had a client change two words in his Headline. The response rate went up 1,000%!
Plus, he now KNOWS the Marketing Principle we used to make that change. You need to test and track ALL of your marketing.
Almost all media sources will let you “split test” your copy.
If not move on! Running more of a crappy AD is only going to get you one thing…Broke.
You should spend your most valuable marketing time on coming up with AMAZING Offers! I’m talking “I’d be crazy NOT to do this!” kinda’ offers.
You’ll test and keep testing until you get a winner. Then write some more and test those against the winner (that’s called a “Control”).
Don’t worry, it gets easier. Plus, many AD’s can be used again and again. Holiday sales, Anniversary sales etc.
Remember, Repetition is the Mother of Skill!
