So, why did I join Talent, you ask?

I have recently Joined Talent Bristol as Head of Practice and can’t think of a better place to work.

For me it’s all about the people I work with, whether that be colleagues, clients or candidates. As an ex-professional cricketer, being part of a team is in my DNA. I wanted to be part of an agile business that would challenge me constantly, whilst giving me the opportunity to develop both my skill set and my career.

I already knew the COO, Darren Wells, from previous companies and approached him about potential opportunities he may have in Bristol. From that, I arranged a call with the Director of Bristol, Paul Archer, and we met for a coffee. It instantly became clear that his vision and strategy mirrored mine. The way Talent was moving and the different initiatives that were being put into place were exceptional. I’ve never come out of a meeting feeling as motivated as I did, it was incredible. Shortly afterwards, I was invited to present my vision and ideas to Darren, Paul and CEO, Jon Butterfield, and the rest was history, as they say.

Without sounding too cliché, I believe culture is key to success and culture is definitely a key in the lock at Talent. Talent values its people and helps grow and develop those people by heavily investing in learning and development to provide their employees with clear progression plans and staff training. Go and see for yourself: www.talentcareers.co.uk.

Talent is a true player in the technology sector, constantly leading with innovative ideas. One of these ideas is Talent RISE. As we are all aware, the technology and digital landscape provides infinite opportunities for young people in tech, and Talent are at the forefront of making this a reality for some. We support disadvantaged youth around the globe and provide them with support and training to transform their own lives and enter the technology world. We leverage our networks within the tech sector, to mentor young people, develop them and wherever possible, get them into roles. It was clear when doing my research that the culture of helping people is at the top of Talent’s list.

Innovation: it seems that every business has the tag line of innovation at the moment, however I can honestly say that I couldn’t name any other recruitment agency to take innovation to the level that Talent does. Talent have their own tech awards, Talent Unleashed, headed by Apple Co-Founder, Steve Wozniak and Sir Richard Branson. We’ve helped unearth some of the most ground-breaking tech in the world. Take a look at Andiamo, looking for the most creative technology startups from across the globe. If that isn’t game changing, then what is?

Believe me, this is just a glimpse of what we have at Talent. If, like me, you dare to be different, then Talent is definitely the place for you. Drop me a line and we can catch up for coffee and I can enlighten you with our growth plans for the future and how you can be a part of that journey.

In Talent, I believe I have found a company that echoes culture, innovation and teamwork.
