So what's in your package?

So what's in your package?

We work to live, not live to work (hopefully). So of course, we want to be compensated for the work that we do, therefore offering clear and competitive salaries is important for any role.

However, many candidates we speak with are looking to learn about more than just salary when considering a role, including culture, employee benefits and ways of working.

Therefore businesses need to highlight what they do for their employees outside of just cash in the bank when engaging with a recruiter, or going direct to market, to recruit for talent.

So what do candidates want to know about?

Employee benefits –

  • Hybrid working,
  • Subsidised health insurance,
  • Additional superannuation contributions,
  • Employee discounts,
  • Company-funded or subsidised education or personal development programs
  • Leave policies – including parental leave policies, additional leave purchasing, paid study or volunteering leave
  • Stock options or equity,
  • Company car or fuel card or novated lease option

Work perks –

  • Flexible or remote working options, ability to choose your own hours
  • Free or subsidised onsite parking, end-of-trip facilities such as bike storage and showers
  • Pet-friendly workplaces,
  • Health and wellness initiatives such as Subsidised gym memberships, EAP programs, access to gym equipment ?
  • Free office snacks or meals,
  • Employee reward and recognition programs,
  • Social committees or initiatives
  • Public transport discounts or subsidies ?
  • CSR initiatives or volunteering days ? ??????????

Lastly, a clear definition of any bonus structure should also be communicated during the process.
