So, what’s of interest as we head into DVD this week?

To make it easy, I thought a short article listing what’s going on at DVD from a Chamois Consulting perspective would be a good idea. We’ve got 4 defence clients at the show and they’ve all got something of interest occurring:

Alcon Components Ltd

Alcon have been making huge steps in their mission to consolidate and grow their share of the defence vehicle braking market in the last few years. They now have their brakes fitted to or on test with over 18 defence vehicle OEMs and prime contractors. Underwriting what they have to offer the sector, they’re announcing their selection by Patria as preferred braking system supplier at the show this week (https://www.chamois-consulting.com/news-media/alcon-selected-patria-principal-supplier-braking-systems-heavy-armoured-vehicle-range/). This is a significant achievement for them.

 Alcon will have a stand on the skid-pan a DVD showcasing their defence offering so please do stop by and take a look.

Jankel

Our latest account acquisition, Jankel are enjoying some big wins in the defence markets at present. The show news for Jankel is their announcement of having achieved Direct Partnership certification from Mercedes-Benz (https://www.chamois-consulting.com/news-media/jankel-achieves-direct-partnership-certification-mercedes-benz/). At DVD, as well as the Mercedes-Benz UNIMOG LTTV, Jankel will be presenting a range of Toyota-based options including a Civilian Armoured Vehicle (CAV) LC200; a Fox RRV-x; and a 6x6 70 series extended chassis Land Cruiser. With the Armoured LC200 CAV, Jankel will be show-casing specialist upgrades delivering higher protection levels, including innovative security and safety technologies.

Jankel have a stand on the off-road area (OR-12) at DVD so it’s worth taking a look at what’s on show.

Spectra Group

Spectra Group are exhibiting at DVD for the first time this year, working in collaboration with Jankel. SlingShot is a unique system that enables UHF and VHF radios to work on L-Band Satellite frequency, allowing users to instantly extend the range of their communications equipment to BLOS (Beyond Line of Sight) with COTM (Communications On The Move). At DVD, the military UHF variant of Spectra’s SlingShot will be exhibited on the Jankel FOX RRV-x, with a standard magmount antenna. The civilian, commercial VHF variant with discrete, low-profile antennas, will be mounted on Jankel’s Toyota-based Civilian Armoured Vehicle (CAV) Land Cruiser 200.

Arnold Defense

Whilst not exhibiting any equipment at the event this year, Arnold Defense have chosen DVD to announce that they’re entering production with their FLETCHER land-based laser guided rocket system (https://www.chamois-consulting.com/news-media/arnold-defense-begins-production-fletcher-laser-guided-rocket-system/). FLETCHER was first launched mounted on a Supacat vehicle at DSEi 2017 and since then, has been seen at shows around the world.
