So what is your blood pressure, really?

For years I have been doing research on hypertension, on cardiovascular and peripheral arterial diseases, to develop faster, more accurate diagnostic solutions. I have literally spent millions of dollars to improve the state of the art, the technology, to make it more accessible and easier to measure and manage blood pressure.

But from time to time something arrives that changes everything. It's like an earthquake. That's what happens with depistHTA...

depistHTA is a dazzlingly clear and startlingly easy way to manage blood pressure

This simple application is dazzlingly clear and startlingly easy to use. Launched by the FRHTA (French Hypertension Research Foundation), depistHTA is a free app (available in iOS and Android) to better understand and manage blood pressure. The depistHTA app does more for the understanding of blood pressure than all the work that I have done in cardio research in the last 20 years.

Listen to the eminent Professor Xavier GIRERD, President of the Foundation for Research on Hypertension, talk about depistHTA

I am often asked the following question: "I check my blood pressure every day and I always get different results. Is my blood pressure monitor inaccurate?" The answer is no, not at all (as long as you have a relatively recent blood pressure monitor). Blood pressure is not a constant parameter. It varies constantly, depending on different daily factors. For normal physiological reasons, your blood pressure can vary by up to 30 points over a brief period. It is therefore perfectly normal for your blood pressure to change between two measurements. Even if you measure your blood pressure several times in a row, you will almost always get different results. What's important is that you measure your blood pressure more or less at the same time every day, under similar conditions, and then monitor your blood pressure over a period of days. Many external factors (talking, noise, movement) affect your blood pressure. So be sure to be quiet and resting while measuring your blood pressure. According to the recommendations of worldwide experts on hypertension, it is important to measure blood pressure at least once a year from the age of 30 years.

depistHTA offers a clear and validated way to understand and manage your blood pressure.
