So, What is Vulkollan? Material?

So, What is Vulkollan? Material?

In very simple terms what is Vulkollan??

Vulkollan? is a high-grade polyurethane elastomer based on raw materials from Covestro: Desmodur? 15 and special polyester polyols. The rubber elastic material boasts the highest mechanical and dynamic load-bearing capacity.

Why you should choose Vulkollan? material over others?

  • Extremely robust:??Vulkollan? elastomers offer high tensile strength and low compression set.
  • High-performance:?Vulkollan? stacker crane wheels are engineered for operation at peak use.
  • Stable:?Vulkollan? enables excellent wheel load and speed behavior.
  • Low heat build-up:?Vulkollan? wheels have low heat build-up during acceleration and deceleration.
  • Low-maintenance:?Wheels made of Vulkollan? can help to reduce maintenance to once per year.

A little history of Vulkollan??

On the one hand, it’s a classic, but on the other, it’s one of the world’s most modern plastics. First developed in the 1950s as an advancement of polyurethane (PU), invented by Otto Bayer in 1937, Vulkollan? quickly won over the industry.

Vulkollan? is produced on the processor’s premises: certified manufacturers make molded parts from raw materials. The formulations and manufacturing process parameters are determined by precise specifications defined in close cooperation with Covestro. This is an important prerequisite for maintaining the uniformly high level of quality of the engineering material, formulated in part on the basis of the isocyanate Desmodur? 15.

Compressive deformation at various temperatures

In compression testing, the stress application and removal curves for Vulkollan? are very close together, indicating very low energy losses. This is particularly advantageous in the case of repetitive and sustained dynamic loading.

Vulkollan? is a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) elastomer that has been widely used in the manufacturing of wheels and rollers for over six decades. Developed in the 1950s as an advancement of polyurethane (PU), invented by Otto Bayer in 1937, Vulkollan? quickly won over the industry with its unique set of properties.

One of the most notable properties of Vulkollan? is its extremely high mechanical strength and dynamic load-bearing capacity. This makes it an ideal material for heavy-duty industrial applications such as material handling, transportation and industrial equipment, automotive and aerospace industries, as well as the oil and gas industry.

Vulkollan? is a versatile material that can withstand extreme conditions and heavy loads. It is resistant to oils, greases, and solvents, making it well-suited for use in industrial applications where these substances are present. Additionally, Vulkollan? has a good memory effect which means it can return to its original shape after being deformed. It is also a suitable material for both cold and hot temperature environments.

Vulkollan? is produced by certified manufacturers, who make molded parts from raw materials. The formulations and manufacturing process parameters are determined by precise specifications defined in close cooperation with Covestro, the company that developed and registered the trademark. This ensures a uniformly high level of quality of the engineering material, formulated in part on the basis of the isocyanate Desmodur 15.

In today's industrial environment, Vulkollan? is increasingly being used to replace steel and rubber in applications where they fail to meet the requirements. Its high mechanical strength, dynamic load-bearing capacity, and resistance to extreme temperatures, oils, and solvents make it an ideal choice for heavy-duty industrial applications.

it is good material and we can see it had been used as kind of rear suspension as kind of bumper. Just curious to find who can make that production in Asia.
