???♀??????????? So today marks 50 years of me rotating around the sun! ?????????♀?
Today, I’m feeling incredibly grateful to have reached this milestone—it truly is a privilege. I feel blessed to have two amazing adult children, a beautiful grand bubba, adorable pets, a wonderful, supportive husband, caring parents, family, and a circle of fantastic friends and clients who feel like family, too.
At 30, I thought 50 was old! Now, while it’s true I have a few lines around my eyes from all the laughter and a bit of grey here and there, I’m embracing it all as part of the journey. I’m committed to embracing life’s journey and making courageous choices every day. My health is on point (though perimenopause sometimes throws in a bit of fatigue and a few sleepless nights!), and I can’t tolerate hangovers like I used to—hahaha! Still, I’m grateful to feel strong and well.
Over the years, I’ve realised that life will always have its ups and downs. There are two sides to every story, your opinion is not always right, and it’s okay to make mistakes. I’ve also learned that you’re not everyone’s cup of tea—and that’s perfectly okay. It’s important to nurture the genuine relationships in your life and let go of the small stuff because life is just too short. So, be kind and smile at people because it’s free, feels good, and you never know what someone else is going through. I choose to view age as a badge of honour and continue pursuing personal growth and happiness. At the end of the day, being happy and seeing everyone I love happy is the best thing of all.
Oh, and by the way, 50 isn’t even the halfway mark—I’m aiming for 103! (I know it’s a random age! Hahaha!) That may change someday (or maybe I'll extend it!), but for now, I’m here to keep growing, evolving, and embracing what comes. In fact, I’m starting uni next year to pursue a Bachelor of Counselling!
So, to everyone in my life—thank you. Whether you're a close friend or a passing acquaintance, you’re all part of this journey. Here’s to many more rotations around the sun! ????
