So much talk about Human-Centered Design and Design Thinking — Here's what you actually need to know.

If you work in tech, nonprofit, startup, or social enterprise, than you've definitely heard about Human-Centered Design and Design Thinking. Chances are if you're on LinkedIn you've heard about at least one of these. And I'm also willing to bet you're a little confused about them, and when to use which (let alone HOW to use each).
The MovingWorlds Institute has tried to make sense of this and offers the following:
- Design Thinking is a process that helps develop products and services that end-users will actually use and markets will adopt.
- Human-Centered Design is a mindset and framework that helps those products and services truly benefit the lives — in the long term — of those receiving the product/service.
Design Thinking and Human-Centered Design are not interchangeable nor competitive. They are complimentary tools that develop better products and services for the people that use them, and even the world at large.
