So much to be grateful for...

So much to be grateful for...

‘You're going to go through tough times - that's life. But I say, 'Nothing happens to you, it happens for you.' See the positive in negative events’ - Joel Osteen.

Sure times are tough but there’s so much to be grateful for too. So what have I discovered about myself after two weeks of isolation?

  1. I am learning how to use technology a little better and being an active participant in a digital community
  2. I have spent more time cooking in the last two weeks than I have last year!
  3. I am saving money as I no longer buy coffee or have coffee-meetings (thought my snacking has increase, so I don’t buy any)
  4. I get to go for evening walks in the park and oval near my home - almost daily (and sometimes I have a photo-themed walk – I look out for teddy bears, rainbows, interesting walks, flowers and odd finds on the streets, for an idea of what I am talking about, check out my Instagram @garyleecious)
  5. I am using every space in my little unit and I am cleaning obsessively – change of scenery is critical when confined in a small space
  6. My personal hygiene practices ie. washing hands have improved
  7. I have connected with friends that I have lost touch with over the years
  8. I feel like I am finally on top of my work and life – I have time to organise!
  9. I have not had to use ANY hair products in the last two weeks
  10. I started to notice things I never did before when life was constantly ‘busy’ – like the sound of rain and birds. Almost feels like a holiday as I sit here next to my window. Truthfully.

Most importantly, I am in good health and my family and friends are all safe too.
