So Long 2018!

So Long 2018!

You were definitely a year to remember, and just like that, I blinked and we’re heading into a new year. Before we flip the calendar to 2019, I want to take the opportunity to send my appreciation to everyone who invested their support into Impresiv Health along the way. Our team was simply AMAZING this past year, and when I look back on 2018—a year of progress and success—I can’t help but bask in some of our biggest achievements, the lessons learned, and the bright future that’s ahead of us and our clients in 2019.

Our top three achievements in 2018:

  • Embraced ChangeWe rebranded ourselves from The Bench Team to Impresiv Health, which better aligned our name, brand, and growth strategy to our mission of building a firm where thought leaders and proven industry experts come together as a team to pioneer new ways of thinking and delivering healthcare consulting services.
  • Accomplished Goals—Not only did we hit all of our individual and company goals that we set as a team, we grew substantially as a result of our previous relationships and newly trusted client partners.
  • Stood in Our Clients’ Shoes—My team has accepted my challenge to “think and act” like our clients to help us further our mission. Their response: Increase our organizational capabilities by changing our hiring strategy. In addition to the skillsets that we’ve been able to attract, we’ve added a team of physician and C-Suite executives who will provide additional thought leadership.

My lessons learned throughout the year:

  • There really isn’t an “I” in TEAM—Until this year, I’ve always taken it upon myself to do everything on my own, especially when I wanted a particular task finished by a deadline. Well, this year was a little different. While I love to be hands-on and often look over shoulders, I had to learn how to delegate more often and trust in my team to be an effective leader.
  • Do what you’ve done all your life and be a sponge—Take advantage of the opportunity to learn the good and the bad habits from the organizational leaders I have the pleasure of working with. For example, I have a great relationship with the president at one of our client organizations and this is the most consistent person that I know. So consistent, I know that if I send an email after 1pm, I’ll more than likely have a response the next day by 7am at the latest. So, what does this translate too? Either this individual doesn’t sleep, or is a master of routine, showing the value of their relationships (or at least making them feel valued) by doing something as simple as acknowledging their emails. And if they do this for me, well, they have to be doing it for their staff as well. I’ve already incorporated this consistency into my own professional lifestyle and will often wake up early to send an email before they do—just so they know I’m working a little bit harder. ??

As we move into 2019, I foresee a bright future ahead for our clients, partners, and team. I can’t begin to explain how excited I am to get back to work and do what I love. Our team is looking forward to overcoming the industry’s most pressing issues related to talent shortages, rising administrative costs, and operational inefficiencies to continue to build our reputation as trusted partners for the most problematic challenges.

To my partners, clients, friends, and colleagues, I’d like to wish you all a prosperous New Year full of great health, lots of success, and happiness in 2019.

With a smile and cheers,

Marcus
