So glad you’re not one of THAT 20%

So glad you’re not one of THAT 20%

You may be, and hopefully are, one of the TOP 20% -- but I sure hope you’re not one of?this?20%.

As you may have seen in my?first publication in 2 years,?I’m back?in the “marketing” saddle.

When we resurrected our contact list, however, we learned?within minutes?that?18.95%?of the email addresses which were still living when I was last regularly emailing?tips & tricks to help you overcome challenges?have since?died.?;-(?

You know the 80/20 rule? Paleto’s 80/20 rule?

Well, sadly, it’s alive & well … showing me that roughly 20% of businesses (mainly in the construction industry as that’s my niche market) died during these tough times over the last 2 years.??

But as one of my clients stated the other day:

Usually, a business doesn’t die from 1 incident.?It’s a death of a thousand cuts.

I’m not suggesting that these 20% of now dead businesses died?because?of this 2-yr “pandemic.”??I’m suggesting they were already struggling … and when the challenging times?and the fear?arrived it was?the straw that broke the camel’s back.

In fact, as you’ll hear in this video … one of my clients received a letter from a sub-trade/service-provider explaining that they’ve had to close their doors … and,?get this:

He BLAMES it on the "unusual situation" over the last 2 years!??I recommend you listen to?this video.

You know the saddest :-( thing of all???

There is … and?there?was help?out there for this 20% … as well as this service-provider to my client!??This didn’t?have to?happen.??If they didn’t want to be in business anymore that’s fine … but they could have sold the business instead of?throwing in the towel.

This brings me to a story of a client who listened to me all day long in a workshop in which I was training on my?7 (Key and)?Simple?Strategies for Success.??That was mid-December.??The end of October, less than 2 months earlier, he had decided to?throw in the towel,?giving his 8+/-?employees separation papers with their Christmas bonus.??He’d been in business for nearly 15 years and had?had enough.??And then, in that full-day workshop, he learned of how?it could possibly be different.

He called me 2 weeks later; the beginning of January, saying:

I’ve reflected more on my business over the past 14 days than in the previous 14 years!

He’d decided to join the?year-long coaching & training program?I’d introduced in that workshop.??It was a lot of money, he said; and he also said that he figured if, at the end of this year-long program, he still wanted to throw in the towel then at least he could look himself in the mirror knowing that he had?done everything?to make his business pleasant?& FUN?again.

By the end of that 1-year?Trade-Contractors’ Business College?program

  1. his profits (which hadn’t been a problem, anyway) were MUCH higher,
  2. he’d tripled his vacations to 3 in that year (do you know how few contractors actually have "real" vacations?)
  3. +?his business had doubled.

He had struggled for years; unable to break through that $1-million “glass” ceiling.??He’d

  • get close & lose money;
  • fall back down,
  • get stronger again,
  • come back at it and
  • lose money again,

again falling back down for a couple of years!??

Yet in this?1-year program?he blasted past that ceiling, more than?doubling?his business … while having?TONS more FUN.??It was thanks to him and other clients that my?slogan/promise?became what it is today

FUN?has never been?so Profitable!

After 1? years of our coaching partnership he took a break.??Next time he called me he said he felt he was right back where he’d been before we met 2 years earlier.??A quick assessment showed us that?he had never been?here?before!?And here he was?flying solo?again.??

We resumed our business (coaching) partnership and we’re still in that partnership?today.??(Best business partnership one could ever have!! When you want to end it you just give me 2 months’ notice and we don’t even split the profits – though would that ever be nice for me if we did!!??LOL)

When he turned 55 … he had NO desire to retire – something he had thought was just a pipe-dream, about which many too many contractors in Canada speak sarcastically:?

You know Freedom 55? they rhetorically ask me.

More like freedom 75 won’t even happen for me!?

He turned 56 this year … 15 years after we entered into our 1st?partnership … and where he is today wasn’t even remotely imaginable?for him those 15 years ago!!

And nor could 80% of contractors today, anywhere in the world, imagine being where this contractor now is … based on where they are today.

What about you???Are you in that 20% of contractors who will actually retire lucratively???Meaning you are?not in that 80% of contractors who will be carried out with their boots on … after having?lied for decades, to others and especially to themselves, saying:??

I really want to keep working (… myself to death).

Would you like it to be different????? Yes??? Great!

Join us on?April 21st?in a?live &?interactive?seminar.??I can’t facilitate them in conference rooms anymore, like I did for several years … all across Canada and around the U.S.

The next best thing?

We’ll be?LIVE in a Zoom video meeting.??Still?interactive.

If you’re interested, watch for the registration page that’s coming soon.??[Some?spur-of-the-moment?FUN?vacations for my team got in the way, causing a slight delay :-) … but I still want to give you a heads-up … so you can (at least tentatively) reserve the date just in case learning how simply?& easily?you, too, can dramatically?uplevel?your business … quickly & easily ... speaks to you.]

So?watch this video?to

  • get TONS of Value on numerous interesting topics; as well as to
  • hear a bit about this upcoming?Live & Interactive seminar
  • or wait until our next publication when the registration page https://mljinternational.com/21April22/ will be live. (As one might imagine, here at MLJ we're ALL about FUN so when this vacation opportunity presented itself at the last moment of course they just knew it would be fine with me for them to seize the moment! After all, that's a key component of Strategy #2 in my 7 (key yet) Simple Strategies 4 Success.)

In the meantime, why not tentatively book the date???21April22

The seminar comes with my?VERY OWN?personal guarantee:??

Everyone?will walk away from that?interactive?video-training/seminar with?at least?one simple step to take to get?

  • shockingly simple &
  • surprisingly pleasant?

results from your investment in attending this seminar.??If you don’t have one simple step you can take almost immediately, we’ll look for one until you do!!??And if there simply isn’t one, you’ll get a refund.??Simple as that!

Looking forward to seeing you, too, on 21 April ‘22!
