And so, the 2022 season comes to an end...

I realise I have left this to the absolute last minute, but I think it's a year I didn't want to let go of. So many things have happened. So many feels. So, let's just get right into it and see how we go.

At the start of the year 微软 partnered with the WA Data Science Innovation Hub (WADSIH) to help the community learn about #Data and #AI in the cloud. Together we ran careers panels and #certification workshops enabling people to become certified in the #Microsoft #Azure #AI Fundamentals Exam (AI-900), AI Engineer (AI-102) and the Data Scientist Associate (DP-100) Exams. We continued to run panels and workshops throughout the year.

CoderDojo WA Bunbury

I went down to Bunbury for the launch of the Neurodiverse CoderDojo. Did you know there are more CoderDojo's in WA than in any other Country in the World, including Ireland, where the head office is and where it was founded? CoderDojo's allow kids aged 7-17 to learn how to code. They have an each-one-teach-one mentality, so kids can help each other to learn. Tele Tan AM , Lyn Beazley and Michelle Wong were all there to support the kick-off of the Bunbury branch.

Microsoft Student Accelerator

We started running in person events for the Microsoft Student Accelerator Program . We managed to run them in Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane, Sydney, Perth and Adelaide. With between 35 and 120 attendees at each event. Through this program we encourage Students at Universities and TAFEs across ANZ to Certify, Connect and Build on Azure.

Through the combined emerging developer programs - WADSIH/WADI, Microsoft Student Accelerator ANZ and the She Codes Australia Partnership 392 people sat certification exams this year.

Virtual Realms at WA Museum Booja Bardip

I was able to support the WA Museum's Virtual Realms Exhibit as their Ambassador. It was such a cool event, combining art, music, narrative and technology. Virtual Realms paired six of the world's most acclaimed videogame developers with six leading media design studios to create a series of large-scale, experimental spaces. This exhibition presented 21st century game design as a unique form of contemporary art, opening a new way to experience this rapidly evolving platform.

Techorama.BE

I went to Techorama in Belgium and later in the year in the Netherlands to present on using LinkedIn to build personal brand and connect to your business network, as well as a session on GitHub Actions, Azure Static Web Apps and Azure Custom Vision. They were fantastic conferences with so many interesting topics to learn.

#DDDPerth 2022

We ran a stand at DDD Perth showing how Forza Horizon 5 supports more than 10 million concurrent players. The game developers rely on autoscaling Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) clusters to meet the most challenging performance demands, while fully managed Azure services free the team from time-consuming infrastructure management tasks. We ran a bunch of events in the week running up to #DDDPerth including a FENDERs Meetup, an Azure User Group Meetup and a Microsoft Student Accelerator event.

Microsoft Reactor Pop-Up Perth

We ran a Microsoft Reactor Pop-Up in Perth which included an Azure Developer Night, a Data and AI Night and a She Codes at Microsoft Workshop Day.

I hosted a panel at the Australasian Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (flagship conference for Australasian AI community). It is an annual event to advance communication between academic researchers and industry AI practitioners. It promotes cutting-edge works contributing to the theory and practice of AI.
