A Snowy Day in Bed

Under the blanket is where I’ll stay,

upon this cold and snowy day.

No need to work, no wish to play,

under the blanket is where I’ll stay.

In olden days they’d ride a sleigh,

on such a white and icy day,

then feed the horses fresh clean hay

and wait to rest till end of day.

But we have cars and highways here,

and slippery tires do make me fear,

a slide or maybe something more,

a tragic crash with all its gore.

No-not the roads for me today,

under the blanket is where I’ll stay.
