In addition to my post on LinkedIn https://www.dhirubhai.net/posts/vishal-garg-406685b0_snowflakes-data-ingestion-for-rdbms-activity-7043937233174740992-iZ6N?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop where I discussed the three approaches for ETL using COPY INTO, Custom Connector, and Spark Connector I have tested the fourth one using Snowpipe. it's one of the finest approach for an end to end real-time replication of a RDBMS to Snowflake.
Snowpipe Data Load using AWS Glue via S3?:- In this approach I have used S3 bucket with required IAM roles for incoming data and then I have used Snowflakes Storage Integration Object to S3 and an External stage object to load the data. I have used “SNOWPIPE” to lift the data based on SQS notification. Moment the data arrives to the S3 bucket even notification triggers and SNOWPIPE kicks the loading action. It's highly automated with 0 manual efforts the data from S3 goes to the Snowflake target table. It's like PUB SUB mechanism where by S3 publishes the event notification to the Snowpipe and it subscribes the incoming data. It's highly seamless.
